    Default Braid

I used braid all last year and have fallen in love with it,no lost fish b/c of line breakage or lost jigs.Had power pro 6 on two rods and spiderwire 6 on two rods.Out of those two power pro would be my choice, really liked how the power pro handled.Went to the fishing store monday and came home with PLINE spectrex braid,Sufix performance braid,Cajin braid and Cortland spectron braid all in 6 plus picked up a spool of power pro 10/2 braid.I think I should be able to pick one that suits my needs by the end of this year.
I'll find this thread though out the year and let you know about the other brands of braid as to how they worked for me.

I used Braid this past fall and winter, I like the way it feel, made thing so much more sesitive to the bite, I did'nt lose any fish to it, My only complaint is that I was using 10/2 and I was losing alot of jigs because the loop I tie for my jigs so that they hang flat in the water would slip out of the eye of the hook. There was a time or two that the crappie actually knocked the jig hard enough to make it come off the braid.

Yes know what you're saying, slip out the gap?,I use the palomar knot and have never had any problem with the slip out the gap problem. However My fishing partner has that problem at times and we use the same type jigs.Don't know why his does it at times when mine doesn't.He started tieing a double palomar knot and solved his problem. If he ties a single palomar he'll drop a drop of glue on the gap.
Yeah I like the feeling of the thump that braid gives you when you catch a fish and not having to set the hook is a blessing.

Well turtle, if you use a tight knot to the eye of your hook you are cheating yourself out of some fish, I did that till one day a very old and experience crappie fisherman showed me somthing I did not know, iF you tie tight to the eye of the hook, your jig does not hang in the water on a level horizontal plane, if you use a loose loop knot your jig has way more life like apearance because the jig hangs in the water on a horizontal plane, and because you are not tied tight to the eye of the hook, your bait has a very free range of motion, because its not bound by the tight knot on the eye. Just food for thought, I aint telling nobody how to fish, but I think you will see a improved number of fish coming to the boat. I know I did

I'm using the power pro 10/2 in yellow. It's visiable out of the water but disappears quickly in the low light. I like the way it fishes; only complant is if you sneeze it's tangled, LOL..........
