my opinion is bamboo. more buoyant, can see it on sonar, and holds fish much better. I've got both types of condos out on my home lake, and the bamboo catches fish 4 to 1 to the pvc. water fills in the pvc, and it makes it hard to pick up on sonar.

    my reason for using it
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

I have both & do alright on each one the only thing about pvc is it last forever. When i sink bamboo i always drill holes so they fill up with water, also your pvc will show up with rebar or tinfoil.
