I can't believe the new Airity doesn't come in a 1000 size model?? That is a downer to me. I see that the new Vanquish does come in a 1000 model at roughly $430 a pop via back order. Thinking about purchasing the Vanquish although would prefer the Luvias Airity but not in the 2000 size.

Daiwa is moving away from 1000 series reels. I don’t need a reel but if I wanted one I would for sure get the 1000 Vanquish over the new Airity.
I just prefer the 1000 spool size.

Sorry to hear that about Daiwa. The 1000 Size is about perfect for U/L. I guess the sales just weren’t there.

For those with a Lunakia 610, do you pair the rod with a 1000 or 2000 reel? I’m considering the Vanquish C2000s for the 610, but a little undecided. I’ve only had 1000s reels thus far.

Which is the rod better suited for?

Both will pair just fine. I have had both sizes on the rod. Keep in mind 1000-2000 reels are exactly same body. The only difference is the size of the spool. The 2000 series will only be a couple of grams heavier….if that.

It is real deal..the 1000 SF weighs in at 135 grams...freaking amazing. The reel also has a shortened spool...lot of new tech on the reel. If one has the coin this is the one to get....comes in at $755.

Dang I’d say amazing my 18 exist fc LT 1000S-p weighs in at 150 grams and I thought it was amazing lol

Will the usual places likely be selling this? Might be a little too early but haven’t seen it advertised just yet.

Thanks! Hopefully we’ll see it be added to sites within the next month or so. Intriguing to the say the least.

Smallest I saw was the 2000 in stock but just randomly noticed they had them. I’m more of a Daiwa guy myself although no issues with my little size 500 shimano.

Think I'm about to pull the trigger on two 2023 Vanquish reels and wait patiently for them to ship.

I'll use them with 5'8", 6'3", and 6'10" Lunakia rods.

I went to a local shop yesterday and found a few reels that I’ve thought about lately. The miravel was a 2500 but felt good in the hand and operation was very smooth. No interest in that size but the reel itself was nicely done and for the money I found it a good deal. They also had Sedona and Sahara. Both were pretty heavy but smooth enough to be a consideration in that price range. They surprised me, better than the last ones I’d handled.

The newer Sahara and Sedona 500 reels are smooth and right at 6oz , so fairly light . The issue is they both have a 5.2/1 gear ratio .
I think you’ll like the Soare BB you ordered . I hope so anyways .

Ordered a Zenon 1000s and some jig heads from fishingshop.kiwi. The reel will go with my Tict RF

I was able to get free shipping since I spent more than $250. Unfortunately, free shipping doesn't apply to boxes and rods.

So I set a stock notification for the Vanquish 1000ssspg on digitaka several days ago.

I check my email this morning and have an email saying it’s in stock. However, it’s already sold out by the time I get on my computer.

Fast forward to this afternoon, I randomly check on my phone around 3:45 CT and it shows back in stock. I was able to place an order for 2 and few minutes later it’s out of stock again.

We’ll see if the order goes through - won’t believe it until I get a shipping notification.

These two reels will be paired with the Lunakias

The wait begins…

bought 2 this morning
had to go through paypal, yesterday tried to pay direct 2 different times
and my cc would not approve, went through paypal this morning,
and everything went fine, probably going to buy 2 more later this year.
