Over the past year as I was pondering to get the MGXtreme my wife kept telling me...."You better get it...you know how they are..it'll be gone". Can't tell you how many times she has told me that...LOL. Cabelas and Bass Pro did carry the MGXtreme with the spare spool..came in the same case as JDM model with spare knobs. On both of these sites it now says "This product not available online". At Tackle Warehouse they sell an MGXtreme, but no case...no spare spool. It just makes me curious if they have discontinued the reel. I'll never get used to JDM products just disappearing and never any announcement that it is been phased out for new model or completely discontinued.

Well...not exactly. It was same reel with different color side plates...deep spool....came in the same case that you got when getting the JDM model....it came with the extra knobs...and the spare spool was a shallow spool. The US version came in a 20 and 30 size. But the MGXtreme had two versions sold in the states....you can still get an MGXtreme from Tackle Warehouse...but it does not come with case...spare shallow spool...sinker keeper...or the extra knobs. Wonder why anyone would have bought the reel from Tackle Warehouse when the reel sold at Bass Pro and Cabela's gave you more for same money?
Regards
To those curious about MGXtreme in 2000S size:
AbuGarcia Revo MGXtreme (Revo MGI Extreme) 2000 S Spinning Reel - Asian Portal Fishing - Japan Brand Fishing Tackle
There was one in stock at the time of posting.
After Alphahawks review is the MGX theta I did some translating and such and purchased the cheaper ALX theta as I needed a reel for my tict rockin finesse. My budget allowed me up to $200 for a reel some I’m interested in receiving this. Will advise. Some of the reviews I read were quite good.

And now the ABU Revo MGX Theta is out of stock in the 1000S size.....at Digitaka at least.![]()
More thought on the Theta reel now that I have used it.....The reel is a keeper for sure. Line lay is great....ease of rotation is great. I do not get the ester flying off this spool like with the FW LT.....at least the time I’ve been using it. That has to be due to the bail shape. Hard to explain how it is but it is bent in such a way that the line slaps against it as it comes off the spool thus eliminating line problems. They discuss this on their website. I have found all of their points on the webpage to be as they say. The drag is uber smooth.....I am assuming because it is a multi stack system and the carbon drag washers. The drag clicker is much louder than any Daiwa or Shimano I own. I am trying to find a niche hole to put this reel in but I cannot. It is better than the FW.....I would say it is probably equal to performance of the Presso and the 20 Luvias. I’m not saying it is better than those 2 reels...after all they are made in Japan.....but in my opinion certainly holds its own. I still would have preferred the MGXtreme but I’m not sure we will get a shot at one of them anytime soon....if ever. I’m glad I got it. It really looks good on the Eradicator. Late yesterday I got into big numbers of 6-8 inch bluegill at VFW Lake. I had one good shellcracker in the bunch...and I must say the reel rotation while fighting a fish is very light. Now I need to get another spool to string up some 2 or 3 pound test nylon to use the reel with the Finezza Prototype if I am in search of Smallies or I get into bigger white bass.

That reel would look good on Corto as well as your Finezza... I did order one today and it’s on the way... I am interested to get my hands on it and check it out... I think I’ll order a cork knob for it as well... glad you like it and thanks for letting us know about it...
