Thread: JDM rods relating to Panfish

Hey guys, I was looking online at JDM rods and was wanting your thoughts on. Shimano world shaula technical edition rod. 99.9% carbon. A couple of models list their action as monster drive? I'm assuming extra fast? It looks like a sweet rod. I love Shimano's actions in bc rods.

Those rods showed up last year. I never figured out what "Monster Drive" meant...Really cool looking rod with nice specs. except for the weight...

My JDM rod is supposed to be here tomorrow from finesse(a great vendor). Line tight 30 minutes after, if I have my way.

Major Craft never disappoints!...........In my constant search for panfish rods I have been wanting an XUL area trout rod with great sensitivity. I have the Palms 6' 4" Egeria XUL which is a thing of beauty and is a ton of fun but it cannot match the sensitivity of the Banshee line of rods. With the pandemic going on, 2 rods that I had been wanting....the Daiwa Presso Limited AGS and the Graphiteleader Super Belleza have been out of reach as the sellers out of Japan that carry those rods only use EMS mail service...which has been shut down to the USA for months. The Daiwa Presso Limited AGS was actually at the airport for a month or so then returned to sender and my money was refunded. I have been pondering a sub 6 foot rod for a while. While the Major Craft Banshee rods are out of production you can still find some around. I have owned a lot of Major Craft rods over the years and still own 2 Banshee rods...the 6' 7" L model and the 6 foot SUL model...both superb rods excelling at bite detection and fun factor. So I thought why not kill 2 birds with one stone. Get the sub 6 foot rod with great sensitivity and get it an XUL model. I cannot wait to get out and fish this rod! It has one of the longest solid tip sections I have seen on a rod...14.5 inches. Recovery time is excellent...rod weight is 2.5 ounces. The butt is 8mm and the tip is 7/10 mm diameter. The lure rating is .6 gram-5 gram....line rating 1.5# -4# test...with a PE rating of .15-.03. It is rare that I fish close quarters and need a sub 6 foot rod but it does come up from time to time. The main reason for this rod purchase....a whole lot of fun and superb sensitivity. The 6 foot SUL Banshee gives me great fun catching the smaller Gills.....5-6 inches. This rod will take that to a whole new level! Then there will be the stocker trout over at Normandy tailrace. My fishing has always been about fun..but it is about to become even more so!

I meant to add about the new rod.....fastest shipping time I’ve ever seen on anything. From the time it was received by FedEx in Japan to delivery to my door was thirty hours and 43 minutes.

Like you, I just recently bought a rod shorter than my others which are 6 and 6.5 footers. My new SC Legend Elite at 5.5 feet has become my favorite. Even from a boat where a i have plenty of room. Caught my new PB bluegill with this rod this Monday at 1.2 pounds.

Argh I broke the last section of my 4-piece major craft trekking road FTX-46/595UL. Any advice on how to get a replacement part. Bought it last year on eBay....
