Are MSRPs not similar between the Lunakia and the Finesse?

Normally they are close. Digitaka has had the Finesse on sale for several months. The Lunakia is made in Japan.....the Finesse is not. Both rods are great but they do fish different.

Was thinking Finesse would probably get the nod but never felt a Lunakia. I do have 2 Tenyru rods but no idea about the Lunakia.

The Lunakia has a higher tech blank......Tict doesn’t tell you much about their blanks. A few years back they used to list graphite in a percentage but they even quit that. The Lunakia has an edge on fit and finish. But as I have said many times when you get to the 300 dollar mark on JDM rods you can be splitting hairs when talking about which one is best. Get to that 400-500 dollar range and it steps up more. I have been trying for weeks to figure out which will be my next rod. I was warned about this and after purchasing the 2 Graphiteleader rods I started looking at even higher end rods. I can spend 250 for a great rod....or I can spend 511 for something off the charts good. These high end and very high end rods truly do fish different. I’m even looking at a 1 piece rod....even though I worry about transport.....but the price is way down from just a year ago and free shipping on the 1 piece saves about another hundred bucks. I was warned back in 2011 not to go down this road....and believe me everything I was told has come true...it is a deep hole we are in....LOL.

    Regards

Both Tict rods that I have show 99% graphite content on their tags. I know that their high end models' "Air High Carbon" corresponds to 55t. At some point I found a fairly detailed description of their Rockin' Finesse blanks, where tonnage varies in the range of 35-45t (as far as I remember), with the upper section made of the lower tonnage material. This is consistent with the Finesse's action – somewhat parabolic top section with a more broomstick-style bottom section.

If it weren't for Digitaka, Tict rods would be hard to find. I managed to get their only Rockin' Finesse on that ongoing sale that Alphahawk mentioned. Whatever they have now are all "last ones", I believe, although they don't list them that way. I am surprised they've managed to not sell them for such a relatively long time at those prices... Once shipments to Russia resume, it will likely be a "goodbye" to that inventory...

Y’all bringing up the 610 Lunakia is making me curious. So my only frame of reference is the 6’7” Yamaga Blanks BC-TZ Nano. What’s the Lunakia like in comparison? Is one better than the other for bigger fish or protecting lighter lines? Sensitivity?

I do not own an TZ-Nano. I did own 2 BC TZ rods.....the 65 and 67. The rods fish different. Both are tubular.....if I am going after crappie and bluegill I would prefer the Lunakia.....more fun. Both rods are very sensitive. The 610 Lunakia is somewhat softer than the TZ. Unless fishing for bluegill at Dale Hollow Lake I rarely fished the TZ for bluegill or crappie. I used the TZ at Dale Hollow for bluegill because I knew I was going to hook up with a bunch of 18-21 inch Smallies. But the Lunakia can handle the Smallies as well. The Lunakia will certainly give you more cushion using light line. Both outstanding rods but to me the fun factor and versatility go to the Lunakia. But keep in mind.....I have no clue how the TZ Nano blanks fish.

    Regards

Thanks for all y'alls help. I ordered the 610 lunakia from finesse and the tict sram from digit. I'm excited. I will let you know what I think when I get them in. Speaking of rabbit holes. Mine started when Tackle warehouse had a sell and a JDM bait caster(it still maybe available Diawa and it's awesome). I can cast an 1/8 oz. jig with it and take my thumb off. So here I go with light and ultralight tackle. Alphahawk Do you ever find wonderland down this rabbit hole? Have you met Alice yet?LOL Regardless... I bet you have had ball. Jim

That SV Light is a heck of a reel, especially for extreme casting situations. TW originally discounted it at 50% off. They soon realized that price was just obscene, but their current offering is still an awesome deal and the best you could possible find on the web.
