I have contacted Digitaka for support since the rod tip broke almost immediately when handling the rod during unboxing. Again, I’m insisting on the fact that I was very careful so it’s possible that I did receive a lemon. I really liked the idea of the portability of a telescopic rod but like you I will most likely invest in another quality JDM rod rather than going with the telescopic route ...

Have you considered the Major Craft Finetail Trekking Travel rod? I know it's alot more than what you paid for but I think a quality 4 piece pack rod will outperform most of the telescopic rods out there:

At 6:35 the reviewer gives a good review on the Finetail travel rod:

There are travel rods offered in the MC Troutino series as well. I might just buy one, lols!

These 4 piece rods take a little longer to set up than a telescopic rod but not that much longer. I think for an ultralight they give up little in performance. I have a lightweight 43" poly tube I pack my 2 pc ultralight 6.5 ft rods when I pack in but give up little in performance. Eventually I will buy a Major Craft Trekking Travel rod that will really pack well.
