FSATL - I feel your pain. I did a quick trial run on the Daiwa BBB. It definitely is a light action bass rod. Right after I ordered it, a new Daiwa telescopic rod was offered at Plat. The new one is basically an updated version. Lighter and I’m sure more sensitive. I didn’t catch any fish in the short 30 minutes of bank fishing, but I could tell that it was made for bass than sunfish. Not a bad thing for Ozark streams. Just not what I expected. I don’t think I’m a huge fan of the sliding guides. I think they add more weight than they add to sensitivity (if that makes sense). The Daiwa BBB will definitely be a specialty rod (back packing only). If I can bring another JDM rod, I will.
