You never know why they like a certain color all of a sudden, but it usually its something just like that ,a color you cant find anymore probably because you have had it for a while. Awhile back my buddy and I on our long lining trips all early spring noticed 90 per cent of the time when we caught a fish it was on a grub that had an orange tail with a yellow and white main body. We also noticed that we had just a few of them left! Course we don't know where we bought them or who made them as we had taken them out of their original packaging and put them in a tackle box slot. The nearest thing we could find was a southern pro grub but it had a bright red tail and just did not produce like the orange tail go figure. Thankfully the following year they wanted a slider jig in motor oil.
