According to the NOAA radar which has a storm total map that gives the storm total precip from the last 24 hours , that the big G got between 5 and 8 inches and that's from the dam all the way up to the state line!!They currently are sending 244000 thousand cubic gallons a sec thru G ville dam which is the most I have seen in over 10 years . Caution should be used if anyone is trying to run a boat on the big G this weekend as there will be all kinds of trash in the water including logs that finally got washed loose from all the rain!! Wouldn't want to hit one of those just under the water at some of the speed I see the Bassers running!!

I am suppose to be driving 350 miles to Weiss Lake on Monday but it could be messed up like most of the lakes in the area. I checked the water level and it was still below normal level as of yesterday. I would like to hear from someone that lives in the area about the conditions. My next chance to make the trip will be in late March so I was looking forward to this one, but if the lake is muddy I will just wait and save the money for another trip.

Our Prayers are for all the flood victims.

GOD BLESS AND HAVE A GOOD DAY!!!!

Weiss lake being attached to the Coosa river stains and muddies up pretty quick and you can bet with all this rain it will be very high and seriously muddy at my best guess but rather than take a guess and I don't know any fish camps to call but if I were you before I started on the trip see if you can find a bait shop or guide service that will be honest with you and tell you how it is. I live almost 2 hours from it or I would go get a visual for you.

Weiss is up 3ft since Wednesday. Alabama Power is pulling three turbines 24 / 7 for the next three days at least. NOAA is predicting more rain mid week for this area. Doesn't look good for awhile.

I live in Guntersville and can tell you that the lake is up. I've ventured out a couple of times over the last 3 days and the water is real high. Some private piers are underwater and the lake/river isn't expected to crest until sometime tomorrow, Sunday. ALL the flood gates at the dam are open and the boat launch and parking lot on the south side of the river at the dam is under a few feet of water. There is all manner of debris floating in the stained to muddy water. I've seen pics of boathouses around Jackson County that have water 3 feet up the sides. Marshall, Jackson, DeKalb and Etowah counties got over 8 inches of rain in 24 hours from Christmas Eve thru Christmas Day. That's not including all the rain we had as just steady rainfall before the torrent came. I'd be real hesitant to make a trip up here to fish anywhere in north Alabama as all the runoff from upstream will still be pouring into all the river systems for the next few days. Also, Monday we're supposed to get another round of storms and heavy rain.

I would think that everywhere is going to be muddy and out of the banks. Everyone stay safe out there.
