Default Thinking about heading south to Alabama

    Hey everybody.

I have a forced week off in mid March. What would the Crappie fishing be like then? I think you guys can fish almost year round. But it would be an 8 hour drive for me and would like to hit it at a decent time.
    Thanks

Depends on the amount of rain and flooding for the area I fish

Lot of good lakes in northern AL but like Tony said weather and water temps will determine a lot, maybe some of the North AL guys will give you some better answers.

Like everyone said weather and water temperature. It should be great for what ever kind of fishing you like.

I wish work would give me a forced week off. Should be good timing and there will be fish in several stages of spawn at that time. But like last year I fealt like they were late cause water stayed colder longer.

Mid March is usually awesome around N AL for crappie fishing. You have several river systems to pick from and can usually connect on at least one of the lakes around if you've got a week to figure it out. Additionally, you can fish several different methods that time of year and be very successful. 18 Mar has been hammer time for me for a couple of years now.
