    Default Wow

How I have missed the thump! I am more than a little rusty, but sunk the hook into some lips today anyway. My huge natural lake has taken a major early rise from huge amounts of runoff. I calculated 49 million gallons per hour yesterday from one tributary! The lake has risen over three feet in 20 days. The water is muddy almost everywhere, but not in a few places. I know that we should be able to catch them in muddy water, but my confidence goes down with the visibility. Today was just amazing, I fished one hour the first time, and 1/2 hour the second. I figured some things out and was getting the rust off. I should have easily caught more this morning with twice the amount of time, but I caught more in the half hour. I will keep going back even if it is 15 minute windows. Name: 20260106_143312.jpg

Love them Cali crappie. They certainly are chunky so there must be plenty for them to eat. You are off to a great start in 2026.
