Nice looking Crappies!

How I have missed the thump! I am more than a little rusty, but sunk the hook into some lips today anyway. My huge natural lake has taken a major early rise from huge amounts of runoff. I calculated 49 million gallons per hour yesterday from one tributary! The lake has risen over three feet in 20 days. The water is muddy almost everywhere, but not in a few places. I know that we should be able to catch them in muddy water, but my confidence goes down with the visibility. Today was just amazing, I fished one hour the first time, and 1/2 hour the second. I figured some things out and was getting the rust off. I should have easily caught more this morning with twice the amount of time, but I caught more in the half hour. I will keep going back even if it is 15 minute windows.

Love them Cali crappie. They certainly are chunky so there must be plenty for them to eat. You are off to a great start in 2026.
