Back at it this morning. Had to remove excess scraps back onto back porch so I could work. Storm came through yesterday with 60+ MPhil winds a tornados south and east of us but thank The Lord above, no damage here except some more dead branches fell from this old oak. Cobwebs gone, floor vacuumed. Hole marked for dryer vent. Momma said Oh we had plenty of that blue paint from the front bathroom left, let's use that. I fetched the can, and had less than a cup of paint. So I'll be going to lowes today for that...

Here's some pic's. Pic's 5, 6, 7are of what was under the floor. Pic's 1,2,3 are the new floor marked where the dryer vent goes and the top half of the slim-fit vent, other half will slide in to top half from bottom and secured with a self tapping screw. Last 4 pic's show the cleaned ceiling. I do not like stucco....Attachment 501999Attachment 502000Attachment 502001Attachment 502002Attachment 502003Attachment 502004Name: 20250303_200920.jpg

That kind of repair takes a bit of patience but you will know what you've got once it's done.

Thank you, John. Here is where I am right now. I have it painted with Kilz, just incase there is some stuff there I'm not seeing. Later this evening It gets coated witha pale yellow as per momma, Missouri Joyces instructions. Tomorrow, like it or not, vinyl goes down, and baseboards. Nothing fancy, just some 1/2" x 4"white pine, that will get some polyethylene put on them...

I always like the white. Almost all my house is painted white. It really brightens everything up.

I'm using Kilz to try to keep any mold at bay. That's the white. Kinda using it as a primer coat if you will. A light sorta pale yellow is going on next. Personally, An off white would work better to me, but Ms Joyce picked it, and you gatta keep dem women folks happy, IF'N you want to be happy...Just sayin'.

First coat done...yee-haaa...Now in about an hour I'll knock out coat two. I showed the corners above the cabinets as who ever painted the dark yellow previously failed to paint the corner and about 6 inches out...Attachment 502035Attachment 502036Attachment 502037Attachment 502038Attachment 502039Name: 20250316_015103.jpg

Second coat done...now to wait till 8AM to break out the multi tool oscillating cutter to punch hole in floor for vent. Don't want to wake the baby next door and get the parents passed at 3 AM, lol. A bit of coffee, some clean up, then wait...
