    Default Laundry Room Floor Replacement

I went and opened a beehive of a mees this time. Ms Joyces washing machine went on the fritz, and seeing's how it was at least 20+ years old I told her to pick out a new washer and dryer. We went and paid for them and they will be delivered and installed next Monday the 10th.

Now when I went and pulled the old ones out, I found the floor there needed replacing. Mobile Home, with Particle Board Subfloor that had gotten wet sometime or other...Here it is Tuesday before they deliver . I have the bad flooring removed, The bad insulation removed. The Vaper Barrier plastic sheet need reattaching right there and a patch over a couple of holes and what appears to be a cut in it to get to a pipe that burst. They just left it hanging...And of coarse ole Mother nature is throwing a fit. Woke up to all day down pours today, and snow called for tomorrow...Lots of fun. Hopefully I'll get a break or two in the rain to do what I need to do outside...We will see. Post more later.

I am taking deep breaths. I am changing how I'm supporting the wall edges though along the wall opposite the dinning area. Instead of Trying to attach to a floor joist with 3 or 4 2x6's screwing one into the other, I'm going between two joists and use 18ga. joist angers on the ends attaching to 2 existing joists. May not be correct, but I think it will work.

Well, Mother Nature is not cooperating this morning. 30* out side with windchill down to 17* and blowing snow. Discussed the possibility of moving the delivery date back some if this weather don't break by Friday. Will see about getting the cross floor supports done from inside today. Have to check on the paint for the walls, might be able to get that done as well. If it warms up some, I'll go under the house and get that vaper barrier put back like it's supposed to be. Knee not really wanting to cooperate much this morning but will push through this mess and "get 'er done". Not going to be a fun day....

Just do the best you can and move on. My dad liked to say about the house "there's always something that needs doing but you shouldn't be a slave to it".

Made some headway today on this floor. I got some of the vapor barrier put back up, as well as the insulation done. Tomorrow, Lord willing, I will get the cross supports between the joists put in where they are needed using the hangers, then the floor piece cut and put in place. Also need to put some insulation above the door, the cut some 1/4 inch panel to cover that area. Hoping to paint the whole room by tomorrow evening. by no later than Monday Luminant flooring going down. At least I'm hoping anyway. Then it's clean the front porch off (a 10'x12' deck). I have some boards that need relacing and Ms. Joyce wants the BBQ grill put up there...Hoping sometime soon to go wet a line for a bit and unwind the spring that's getting way too tight....We will see...
