    Default Slip bobber rod

Found a good deal on some Pflueger President reels and need some suggestions for a slip bobber rod or two. 7' or under, don't need any longer 7'. Be casting small balsa floats with small jigs, potentially down to 1/64oz. Need something that will let the bobber stop go through the eyes smoothly. Looking to spend between 50-60USD

Right now I am using one of my Daiwa Trout X rods (the 6 footer) for my slip bobber rigs. You might like one of the Bass Pro Crappie Max rods, I think they come in at your price point. Of course it is always hard to beat a Shakespeare Micro lite. The 7 foot model is usually about 20 bucks and still one of my go to rods lol.

With all the rods I have, some pretty pricey ones too, I still have a couple of the Shakespeare micro rods. They do a great job and they aren’t fragile, at least mine haven’t been. I abuse em and they hold up. My 6’6” is a dedicated slip float rod and the 5’6” is a mono setup for pitching into nasty stuff. There’s lots to choose from in that price point. The BPS rods have a strong following.

No issues with the bobber stop getting caught in the eyes?

With the Daiwa Trout X and the Shakespeare, I have never had a bobber stop issue at all. That is why these are my go to slip bobber rods. I have never used the Crappie Max but I know they are very popular and crappie fishing lives and dies by slip bobbers lol.
