    Default First trip with grandson

I met up with my son, Jim to take my grandson Jim fishing for the first time. Three Jim's fishing off the dock, the little gills and crappie cooperated and I think he made some finned friends. I was informed by the wee fisherman that I got the names of the fish wrong. Turns out Crappie are actually Sharks and the gills are Whales according to my new fishing buddy. He grabbed the first one but after the first wouldn't hold them but would pet them. After fishing for a short trip it was time to hit the playground. Not quite 2 1/2 years old but he got slimed for the first time.

Great post with pics. I bet it gets a little confusing with all the Jims.

What a great trip. I think grandkids are the only things in the world that are better than fishing.

I'm lucky that I have two at this age. We babysit both every Friday and it's a blast. Never know what they will do next. We have fish magnets on the refrigerator and apparently bluegill look like whales and crappie look like sharks to him. Hoping one of them gets the fishing bug and will inherit my love of fishing and a lot of tackle. Need to work with them getting the reeling part down.

I like hearing stories of new fishermen getting started. I have a pic of my 20 yo granddaughters first fish. Probably a bigger thrill for me than it was her. Good story of a monumental trip Jim, thanks for taking us with.

Grand babies are awesome...Spoil them rotten, an hour before the kids pick them up, give the grandkids something with sugar to wind 'em up...LOL.
