DSJ, that one is a 1/80th oz on a #6. About as small as I'll go. Well, Maybe a #8. I bought a box of asst. hooks at Walmart a few days ago, just to practice on making my son-in-law some trout fly's. sure need smaller dia. thread for sure...
It was hard to tell the size. That should be small enough for bream.

Yep, I have hooked bream on a 1/32 oz jig with a #6 hook, so I should get them on this one. I got some 1/80th and 1/64th oz jigs on #6 from my supplier in Bolivar, Mo.

Eric, my friend that little creation will put fish in the boat which will feed you and your family. I agree with closing that gap in the eye. Great job.

I like it. It will fall slow and be sure to get their attention. Nice work. I fooled with different feathers for the palmering and was surprised at how good some turned out. Some of the skinnier feathers made em look down right buggy. After trimming one of them along the back the remaining fuzz made it look like some flies I’ve seen that I think are called scuds. Like a Maggot with tiny legs.

That would work well also. The scud flies look a lot like grass shrimp to me

Another thing to do, Skeetbum, is take a piece of plastic, like from a zip lock bag or sandwich bag, and cut you a piece kind of rectangular and put that over the back. Use some ribbing and wrap it around the body, locking it in place, the plastic. the feather would stick out the bottom as the legs....

Trout should love it as well as bream. Or at least the big bream. I use a size 8 hook for bream as it keeps the little ones at bay somewhat.

I certainly hope they do. we will find out soon enough. Momma goes back to work this Monday, which is supposed to be a good day, weatherwise. Hoping to be able to get some line wetting in in the afternoon.
