    Default Playing At The Vise

Spending a little time playing around tying while watching videos this evening. This is something I came up with. squirrel tail, a single wraps of sparkle braid and Palmere'd
FL. orange cock hackle feather.... hoping to get their attention. Yes, I left the feather tip on next to the tail...All on a 1/80th oz jig.

The tittle should of read, " Playing At The Vise".

Very nice. I would make sure to tighten that eye though, looks a little bit open to me.

I like the red and black, or is it orange? Either way it’s great!

Dr.Nip, I just grab on with my hands. Don't own no hackle pliers. Works for me so far...

DSJ, that one is a 1/80th oz on a #6. About as small as I'll go. Well, Maybe a #8. I bought a box of asst. hooks at Walmart a few days ago, just to practice on making my son-in-law some trout fly's. sure need smaller dia. thread for sure...

Nice one Eric! I have some sparkle braid on order. I'm planning on using it on the back of my flies/jigs like a shellcase. I like the way you used it. Will try that also. Thanks!
