You'll wind up spending more than you could have bought factory holders for . Unless you have a inside on ram thru your company, get ready to pay . Ram ain't cheap . Keep up with what you spend , be interesting. I used to build some for the public. My cost on the aluminum material was as much as what most companies retail their holders for . I went to spyderloks and haven't looked back . Didn't spend 600.00 either.

I buy everything at cost through my company so it's not that bad. I can get the ram mounts for 10 bucks each. The entire rig you see in the picture cost me about 19 bucks if I can make it work. I'm only going to build one first and test it then when it works build the rest. I have owned the spiderloks and I have to be honest I didn't care for them at all with the way they adjust left and right but they were nice with the way they go up and down. I'm really looking at the titelok capps and coleman single rod holders just for the ability to take some of the guess work out of with pole got bit and and when you bump one with a 4 rod holder all 4 shake. I appreciate the input but I'm not going to give up until I figure this out. And when I do I am going to put the schematics of them up so everybody can build them if they want and not have to pay 75 a holder.

I think your doing a fine job, keeps you busy and making your own stuff is always rewarding. I have the widow makers and they are indeed awesome after some minor modifications. I will never go back to a T bar setup for spider rigging, use Spyderloks for pulling though, there good at that. One thing to keep in mind, when you have the ball mount on the base to adjust forward to back or side to side, the titeloks have and adjustable saddle for the actual holder it's self. You will have to be able to adjust the holder up or down to get the correct angle of the rod when you move the whole shaft forwards or back.

No one is saying he's not doing a fine job . My point is , don't expect to save money using similar materials as factory made holders. After the ram purchase , he's at 30.00 dollars per holder. X 4 = 120.00 . 120.00 = about any tested 4 Rod holder on the market. Individual holders are overrated in an aluminum boat IMHO . They all shake . Get a bite , move your foot , drop your water bottle , whatever, they shake . Your holder does look nice Grizzrider. If it does become a big hit , sell it don't give it away .

Seeings how your likely a product of Tipton Co schools ... I'll take it slow . Actually, if you go back and read it he states " the rig in pic cost 19.00 . If he buys bigger ram add 10.00 . =29.00.

I had individuals mounted on an aluminum G3 and didn't have any problems, of course if you stomped your foot the one closest would shake, but as far as bites just the one rod that got bit would move. OP asked for help on building his prototype holder, I guess I missed the part where he inquired about the assistance with a breakdown / cost analysis and what other products he could get for the same amount of money. And sounds to me like he has a store bought T bar setup already and is looking for something different or better suited for him.

I still think if the ram was attached to the holder and the riser was rigid it would work as is.
