I absolutely love high water fishing. With all the wind, most years, I probably wouldn't even been able to fish most days with 5 foot waves. Not this year. Back in jungle is fun fun. Just something about dropping that jig down in a mess of vines and brush and THUMP!!! And not having boats on top of me all day long.
I do need a few extra batteries in my boat though. Getting thru that stuff is TOUGH! My batteries have gone dead every day so far after about 6 hours.
Which by the way I have a question. I have a 24 volt trolling motor with 2 batteries. IF I took along 2 extra batteries, how could I hook them up to make it work. Or can I use even 1. Sorry. I'm stupid when it comes to stuff like this. They won't fit in the battery well, so I'd have to leave them up on the back deck and connect using some battery cables or something.
I know wading is an option. I'm taking them next trip also. But mostly where I've been catching a lot, wouldn't be good wading. Probably sink in mud over my bibs anyway.

What size boat are you fishing out of, and what group size batteries are you using? I could pull cranks at 1.5 to 1.8 mph for 10 hours in my 16' jon boat with the 80# Ultrex, in my 18' fiberglass I can spider rig or single pole fish for a couple days in a row without topping them off. Of course this is using my big motor to get to and from the fishing hole, 6 hours of single poling doesn't seem right to me unless your traveling a mile or two with the TM before you even drop a line in the water.

I'm with Snubbys on this. I think something's wrong with your existing batteries. Are they older and nearing the end of there life span or is something else pulling them down so soon? You shouldn't need any more than a set of 24 volt batteries in my opinion, especially if they are of good size and properly maintained.

Nothing wrong with my batteries. The issue is twofold:
1. Boat really way too big to be fishing in the jungle. But it is what it is. And it ain't all bad. I can get up and walk around my boat and fish "stuff" once I nose in.
2. I'm having to use a lot of juice just dealing with logs, vines, etc. It ain't like trolling in open water. Trust me, I'm back in the jungle! I have to run it high speed just to get thru that stuff. Get up and push my way thru, etc. I'm catching a LOT of fish but it ain't easy but my kind of fishing. Love it.

And those rod holders are from the guy I bought it from. First thing I did was take all that crap off!!!

Sounds to me like you need to get a couple of golf cart batteries. 2 more batteries and charger would more than pay for them.
