Same here. Refinery thirty miles away. As far as I know, their oil does not come from Texas.
87 octane was 2.26 on Tuesday, 2.59 yesterday. If you go another 15 miles, further away from the refinery, it's usually cheaper.

2.69 here this morning. Went up 10 cents overnight

It's still a massive business, after all. The top 25 oil and gas companies on the Global 2000 reaped $2.6 trillion in sales during our 12-month measurement period, and pocketed $81 billion in profit.

$81 billion/$2.6 trillion = 3% profit

Just trying to add a little perspective ...

I reported here that yesterday the price was $2.49/gal.....today it has jumped up to $2.75/gal.!!!! Incredible.

I have been interviewed by various organizations through the years about the oil and gas industry. Many times, what I say isn't what they print or say on the news. Most have a mind set prior to the interview, they have their opinions about the subject, yet haven't a clue. They have a gleam in their eye, love the dirty laundry.

I've been interviewed on tv once, it will never happen again. You are spot on with your statement.
Whenever I hear reporters say, "so and so declined to comment" , i used to think bad about them not commenting. I now understand why.

Just paid 2.39 in Madison, AL

Exxonmobil is starting back up one of it's 2 big south Texas refineries, The other had bad damage and trapped the employees in for a while. They are still assessing. Price climbed here in southwest Tn, also. It will go back down, but not nearly as fast.
