I fished a very good bluegill and shellcracker lake on Tuesday for about 3 hours. Only 2 bites all evening. Tried live bait and artificial spinners. Fished around docks and submerged structure. I didn't even see any fish near the bank and it's a very clear lake. I think they are still a week or more away

The bluegill seem to be heading toward the beds. Fished 4 hours today around my favorite bluegill and redear beds. The channel cat are thick, so thick that the bluegill didn't have a chance to hit. This is how it went for the first three hours I was out there. Then the channel cats just shut down. I managed to catch a few bluegill, but they were not at all aggressive. Though I did catch them where the beds are, I don't think they were actually on the beds. With the up coming weather I think it will be next week before they really start to bed up. That is if the temp stays up through this rain.

Fished a creek near home today. (Eastern Kentucky) it's really backwater from the Ohio river. Between yesterday and today I caught over 50 bluegill, crappie, largemouth and sucker. Most were caught on a crawdad jig dragged along the bottom. But I did catch a few including a suprising bass on a white curly tail. Creek couldn't have been more that 3' deep.
