Really enjoy bream/redear fishing. My go to is a fly rod popping bug abd bream killer."nothing like it" the Mepps spinner's that being said we make our own mepp's inlines because like the Roadrunner they have over priced their baits and are made cheaper. The blade does not spin and if the blade doesn't spin the lure does not work."bends the shaft and cannot get it straight again!! the shaft bends inside of the body.Called Mepps about this problem no response to fix the problem.A heaver stanless steel Shaft. So we make our own inlines with stanless steel shafts FATMAN's style'Luremaking".We catch every thing. We rig them with single hook's for trout and everything else. Not a rant but our 2 cents.

Aglia & Black Fury Spin Flies Fishing Lure | Mepps

It looks like a really good bait, just a little expensive.

Just came back from fishing the Florida Everglades for tackle smashing Oscars. They slam a spinner so hard it rattles your fillings. Treble hooks are a nightmare to get out of their leather tough mouth so I used single hook Rooster Tails. Only store I found them in was BPS but you can order on line.

I buy spinners with treble hooks and just cut off two barbs with wire cutters.

    Never thought of doing that.

I only fish on days that start with T, like tuesday, thursday, today, and tomorrow.

The trebles run smaller than the single hook and it also has a longer shank. I tried what you said by default when I broke a hook trying to get it out of Oscar's mouth. It will work but not as well.

You might try it with a different spinner. I only use Mepps and Blue Fox. Never had any hooking problems with them.

That would work just as well. Only single hook ones I saw in store were the Rooster Tails. As far as the Oscars they will hit anything that remotely resembles prey. We caught them on a dozen different lures and they love crickets. Turbo Bream is their nickname.
