Pretty simple answer, let the state biologist do their jobs while the sportsman hold them accountable. Don't be afraid to ask questions, ours has all the data to support his answers.
Now, if you don't want to keep them, then release them to fight another day.
Also, you can't condemn a sportsman for following the law. If they are keeping legal fish, and several big sows, you can't have a come-a-part on them, they are following the law.
Everyone has there opinions on releasing fish. We made a conscious effort last year to raise our minimum size on our boat. Here on Ky Lake and Lake Barkley, 10" minimum is the rule. So, we raised it to 11" on our boat, and we have been blessed in many ways. The fish we are keeping are better quality, and the smaller fish have a better chance at survival and spawning more because they have not hit their prime yet.

I am outta this one!!!!!!!!!
I have no problem catching enough fish to eat in just a half day of fishing, there are soo many crappie in our lakes it's unbelievable how good it is. Good Job AGFC The more you go crappie fishing the less bad days you will be empty handed. It's because of word of mouth, you learn the waters, and know which lakes produce best and how to fish them through out the year. Most always If I have a bad day it is because i failed to do something right not because the fish were not there. Lake Conway is a perfect example of this.
I don't really worry about limits, unless that number is getting close in my live well. I don't want to clean that many, or I am guiding someone. I like the challenge of finding my own fish, rather going to a bite where someone has told me to go. Nothing beats finding your own fish with nobody around. For me 10 is a good number to bring home, clean and have a fresh meal with some cold crappie out of the fridge the next morning. I also have no problems giving some fish to my Family or close friends I know will eat them post hast. There are allot of fish out there folks, Go catch them.

I prefer to eat fresh caught crappie over frozen. Just my personal opinion. I enjoy giving the frozen packages to family and friends that don't fish themselves. A lot of times, while cleaning my fish at the local cleaning station, I will give a Ziploc bag of filets to a less fortunate fisherman that only had a small mixed bad of fish. You won't believe the disbelief on their face! I really enjoy being able to do that.
