Pretty simple answer, let the state biologist do their jobs while the sportsman hold them accountable. Don't be afraid to ask questions, ours has all the data to support his answers.
Now, if you don't want to keep them, then release them to fight another day.
Also, you can't condemn a sportsman for following the law. If they are keeping legal fish, and several big sows, you can't have a come-a-part on them, they are following the law.
Everyone has there opinions on releasing fish. We made a conscious effort last year to raise our minimum size on our boat. Here on Ky Lake and Lake Barkley, 10" minimum is the rule. So, we raised it to 11" on our boat, and we have been blessed in many ways. The fish we are keeping are better quality, and the smaller fish have a better chance at survival and spawning more because they have not hit their prime yet.
