Mighty fine mess there!

After a very slow start jigging on Saturday, I left there pulling cranks. Turned a bad day into a productive day with 22 keepers. Some nice fish. Set out today to just pull. Started at 10:15. Caught a few quickly, then it turned to lots of dinks with an occasional decent fish. I had 16 in the box around 5:15. A few average keepers along with some nice fish. Then, as the sun was starting to slip below the trees, it happened. I found a spot that paid of a pile of slabs, both blacks and whites, and it paid of fast. By 6:00, I had 28 in the box including four over 2lbs and several knocking on the door. It was fun to get out and just pull cranks for a day. It wasn't a limit, but it produced some excellent fish. I'll take this haul every time I go out over a limit of average fish.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work, unless you fish for a living.Skippa Chippa, MO Slab, LAHooligan, Tracker123, RMGeorge, NwLa sacalait, fishervet, theygotaeat, prefers shiners, LouisianaFishNut and 3 others LIKED above post

Ha! I just caught a lucky break on a good stretch of water. I'd pulled some nice ones out of the same area on jigs the last couple weekends. None like that though. I'm just fortunate to get the pointers from the pros around here. That was the first time I mixed 300s with 200s. Those big blacks were loving that 200 Orange Crush. The big whites wanted that Hotty Totty 300. I ran the 300s between 14'-16' and the 200s about 13'. Again, verified by when they drug bottom at those depths. That's two days in a row that spot changed the day and you just had to be in it when they decided to turn on good. Shame it happened so late. That's happened a lot lately. I just can't make myself leave without at least a handful for supper or it gets so dark I can't see my rods. My wife says I have a problem. Does this look like a problem? I think it's quite the opposite of a problem. Lol
