I am running roughly 1.3-1.5. I don't have line counter reels. It's more of a "looks about right" on the amount of line out. I'll guess I'm running around 100'-120' of line with 300s to get around 15' down. Where I troll, the lake bottom has a few spots that go from 18-20ft up to 14-15ft before dropping back off. I know I'm running that deep when my rods start twitching from the cranks hitting bottom. It doesn't take long to get an eye for casting out the right amount of line. I just started pulling cranks last fall, so I'm no seasoned pro by any means, but once you get the hang of it through trial and error, it's hard to not catch fish. Some days it will take me hours to find what depth to run and which colors they hit, but once you find out, you start putting fish in the box pretty quickly. Yesterday was a slow day. We still managed to bring home 20 decent fish and threw back a bunch of dinks while others fished longer to scrape up ten or twelve average keepers. It's just hard to beat those cranks some times.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work, unless you fish for a living.

What set up are you using? Are you using weights or just long lining? I fished cypress regularly, although I've been on claiborne the last few trips. If you see a camouflage bass tracker pro with a mercury 75, give me a shout! I fished Cypress today for a couple of hours...nothing.

No weight. Just long lining. I didn't make it out this past weekend. I'll keep an eye out for you.

It's been a hot minute for sure. I'very been pretty busy for the last year and haven't really been able to chase the perch too much. Tried to make it to the Bend for the gathering but business got in the way. good to hear from all you. Now that Mrs . Small axe bought me boat to keep local I should be able to post more
