People tell me all the time, man you got to try this and that ... And I do of course with no luck at all. So it's just stick to your basics. Either use a minnow or just try different jigs to see what color they like. When you get a crappie on a certain jig type/color style, just stick with that until the bite stops.
This has not been my experience at all.

I use scents mostly in cooler water. Would probably help in warmer water along with nibbles I just haven't needed them in warm water. Instead of using the spray bottle I put a small amount in a container and dip my jig instead of spray. Cuts down on the mess. My fishing partner uses nibbles often.

Recently bought garlic BANG spray, I just spray them in the storage container or bags , it keeps them smelly..

Plastic worms for bass fishing has been using anise oil for decades. It does work well.

Since I got into Summer spider rigging, Ive discovered that jigs with Crappie nibbles work as well if not better than minnows, usually when I am running low on minnows I will switch to jigs/nibbles and let my partner use the remaining minnows, I continue to catch fish and usually out fish my partner.

When vertical jiggin with small jigs bluegill stay away until I use chartreuse crappie nibbles and crappie etc like them also. Hours, weeks, days, months of fishing have sold me on nibbles. Also got some anise spray that I dumped into an empty nibbles jar, I prefer dipping the jigs rather than spraying - I'm still testing but I think it's working for crappie.

I'm speaking on my experience. I've trolled, jigged and all else using crappie nibbles and scents. I've never caught one fish. Now if I just use a jig without scent or a live kicking minnow, I put fish in my cooler. It might work for you all, but not my experience. I've tried nibble glo chart and the pink and char nibbles with no results (hours of fishing). I went and paid $7.99 at BPS for this Slab Jam ... again, nothing. Fished with it all day and saw fish. Now I will say this however, my buddy I fish with was using Kickin Crappie from BPS and was catching fish. I'm just old school and stick to what I know works for me. Good luck!
