What boat speed do you usual run when using Side Imaging? I figure slower is better but wondering what most people have found to be the best speed?![]()

My boat won't go 40 mph.However, my transducer is bolted to the bottom of my boat (got rid of rooster tail and engine blockage issues) and I git some good looks at 20mph. Rough water, well it is a different story.

455 has more coverage than 800 .... the strength of the 800 Khz signal dissipates a lot quicker than 455.

Yes 455kHz has more range - with less detail = better for seeing all the way to the edge of the display ...
800kHz has more detail - with less range = better for discerning stuff right under the boat ...
I use each - for what it does best - (dependent on if I want to see detail under the boat ... Or if I want to find stuff farther away from the boat) ...
