Yes 455kHz has more range - with less detail = better for seeing all the way to the edge of the display ...

800kHz has more detail - with less range = better for discerning stuff right under the boat ...

I use each - for what it does best - (dependent on if I want to see detail under the boat ... Or if I want to find stuff farther away from the boat) ...
