Close but no cigar. It doesn't involve explosives or electricity.

All jokes aside, do they have any idea how to combat and rid the waters of these fish? The one big positive occurred back in 2014, around 500k-1m of these carp mysteriously died. I've heard some real B.S. stories regarding that fish kill.

These fish could ruin fishing all over the US. What are they doing about this unfortunate situation?

Troy, as bad as it sounds, it's going to take a death from somebody getting hit in the face by a 20 pound silver carp to get the attention of the ones who I hate to see having to help, politicians.

The commercial fishermen have told anybody who will listen they have the means to do something drastic and are willing to IF THE $$ IS THERE. Currently Asian carp are bringing less than 10 cents per pound at the few buyers who can process them. That means long drives for the commercial guys just to get them to markets where they currently sell them at a loss. The target price where they can make money is 15 cents per pound.

The netters have already proved they have the expertise and equipment to remove tens of thousands of pounds WEEKLY if they can make money doing it. I hate government being involved in our lives but since the politicians subsidize everything they think they can buy a vote with, maybe it's time they get involved in removing a scourge they allowed into the country in the 1st place. If the $$ is there, there are lots of folks who would be out there daily netting the Asian carp as fast as they could get them to market.

What is it going to take? Sadly, it's going to take a total collapse of our fishing tourism OR some politicians' kid getting his/her face bashed in by a jumping carp while running 60mph on a jet ski. Politicians do nothing unless it either puts $$ in their pockets or votes for their elections. Hopefully we don't totally lose our sportfishing before somebody decides it's time to invest in our fishing future.

Good to see Doug. A deer duked it out with my boat puller, I think he may have won too.
Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer!
