I really like to chase the quail and pheasant. Very fortunate to have close friends that have lots of land in western Oklahoma.

I just remembered this thread from almost a year ago. Her name is Bea. Here's when we brought her home.
Ike was a superb pheasant dog and weighed 72 lbs. Bea has more intense bird prey drive than he did and she weighs 50 lbs. She's now almost 10 months old and has had a few quail shot over her in training. She has fallen out of the boat once so far and had one jig in her paw but she loves to go. She's a retrieving fool so I'm looking forward to the soon to be dove and teal seasons followed hopefully by a bunch of wild quail and pheasant. Last year was the best quail year in Oklahoma since the early 80's and it looks like this year will be great. I like quail hunting but love pheasant so I'll spend lots of time in Kansas this year. My 16's are gonna get a good workout for a change. I would really like to get to South Dakota but have no idea where to start. I don't hunt pheasant in large groups - just like to get out with a dog.
Here she is now

I have bird hunted quail in KY, TN, KS. Grouse in the UP, WI, VT, NH and ME. 2 English Pointers and an English Setter in the kennel now. Looking to add another setter before fall. Guess I bird hunt more than I fish. Hope to change that next spring.
I made the mistake of going with a group of guys from church last season down to Hickman and duck hunted with them for my first time. That turned into having another costly hobby. Lol.
