Was wondering how many of you all crappie fish and bird hunt? I do and love to chase pheasant in South Dakota.

I've been known to bust a cap on a few Dove birds, in recent years. I have shot a few Quail, and a Pheasant, here in KY in years past.

I do enjoy a good dove hunt and a bunch of my friends from northwestern IL hunt upland with lab puppies I raised. They have been trying to get me to go to the Dakotas with them for years. Not enough $$ and time to go around for all my vices.

10/4 on the $$ and lots of fun in a good dove shoot but a nice pointing dog locked up on a big rooster pheasant not much of anything more prettier. (But they are a few things)

My dad/uncles/cousins hunted pheasants in Iowa during the 70s and 80s but the bird population out there took a nose dive because of different farming techniques. Basically the birds lost much of their habitat. I've heard so many stories from them and believe me, they cover everything from killing their pheasant limits to carousing to old school fist fights. Those must've been some kind of hunting trips, too bad I was too young to enjoy.
They did go to South Dakota in recent years but decided it was too expensive.
I'm with Mrdux I love to hunt waterfowl. I use to quail hunt with my grandfather when I was younger. It's hard to find a fence row now days.
I'm thinking about ducks and crappie 365 days a year. Both are a year round addiction.
And I chase both in multiple states!
I duck hunt in Mo. I have been to South Dakota bird hunting. We use to do a lot of pheasant hunting here in east central Illinois but its pretty tough now a days too many coyotes.
I have kicked up hundreds of pheasants all at once in the 80's 2 different times that was really something to see. Use to see them here and there all summer long but not so much anymore.
I have an uncle in south Dakota I should go see.
