Good report. I wanna go bad, but I know I'll probably just get disgusted with all the boat traffic.

My wife and I had some free time without the kids last night so we decided to spend the evening at Tville. They were parked on the hill at Settlers Trace but there were a lot of boats leaving so I figured we could sneak in and unload pretty quickly. We were on the water at around 6:30pm and on my spot at about 6:40.
The water was just about a half foot above summer pool and not as dingy as last week. All the debris has been blown out of the water by the numerous wakeboarding boats and jet skis. (At least I can find some use for them!) Water temp was 77 deg when we left at dusk.
Despite the numerous whitecaps and rollers, we were able to hold on my spot pretty good and find some fish. I scanned over my brush and saw several fish suspended above it, which is always a good sign the fish are active. I got our spider rigs set up and as soon as we got to the pile, we got thumped. My wife caught the biggest fish, which I was glad to see. She got used to recognizing when a craap would hit her poles and it was smooth sailing from there. She helped with the trolling motor and watching our waypoints. Many people don't understand how special it is getting a few hours alone doing something we both love after 7 years of raising and homeschooling two children. I'm proud of and very thankful for my wife.
We spider rigged minnows, half on Lime Green jig heads and half on Capps & Coleman rigs. Both were just as effective. I culled several 9"-10" fish and took home 7 craaps, all 11"-11 1/2". I also caught 2 hybrids and had a very large catfish snap my line. It's a good time for many different species at Tville. Several guys were still out night fishing when we left.
It was a beautiful night with my beautiful wife on my beautiful home lake catching some beautiful crappie. Can't get much better than that!

I could tell you a couple stories concerning boat traffic from sun night. Some people amaze me (not in a good way either).

Thanks for the update. We are retired and have been married 30 years this July. All our three children have left the nest. Its awesome that your wife and wives in general decide to
fish. Heres a shout out to all women who fish. It is important to find time to do fun stuff together as a married couple. I taught my wife in one year to fish three years ago. She can fish like a man and thats quite a compliment.
She can do it all, untangle knots, restring, rig, cast where she wants to,knows a strike , can drive the boat off the trailer at launch, bring it up on trailer when I get the truck, and can fish all day
in 90 degree weather and humidity. If it gets cold and windy her frustration gets the better of her after about four hours so we head in. Being retired we avoid all weekends and just during the week.
Oh yeah the funny stuff, three years ago when docking and our first year with our boat we got our wires crossed and I ended up in the water with my wallet and cell phone taking the plunge.
I swam to shore and we had a silent drive home.
Great report, thanks for sharing. And yes, I love women that fish. I never pushed wifey into fishing with me, and she never really did, until we moved to Florida, and now we go out regularly.
I've fished KY and Barkley lakes for well over 40 years. Sunday the boat traffic in one particular creek area was absolutely the worst I have ever experienced. Rodney Dangerfield in the lake scene in Caddie Shack comes to mind. We hung in and took the beating and caught 14 keeper crappie, a couple keeper bass and some catfish, all just a few hundred yards from the campground ramp.My clients wanted to know if it was always that bad since it was the first visit to KY Lake for some of them.

It took my wife a while to get the knack of pulling cranks but now I will put her abilities up against all but a very few men I have fished with. She loves it but the weather has to be to her liking and the lake can't be rough like it was Saturday and Sunday.

One of my best fishing trips ever was spent with my wife last June on our 10 year anniversary.
My brother and I had gone fishing the day before and caught over 80 keepers ahead of the aftermath of Hurricane Bill. We already had a babysitter to watch the kids and when she saw how good we did, to my suprise, she said she wanted to go fishing the next morning. I told her the rain and wind was gonna be bad but she insisted it was what she wanted to do. So we left the boat rigged up that night and headed out in the morning.
We got there a little bit ahead of the rain and the bite was still on, big time. We were spider rigging Capps and Coleman double minnow rigs over mid depth brush piles. As the rain came down harder, the fish bit better. She was a real trooper and hung in there right beside me like a pro. She reached over to set the hook on a rod and was having trouble getting the fish up. She asked for my help and to my suprise, we pulled up two 11" crappie on one double minnow rig. It was the first, and only time since, that I have experienced that! And the kicker was, she had just asked me if we had ever caught two craaps at once! It was priceless!
The rain beat down really hard and was blowing sideways so we had to take cover under our umbrella in an adjacent cove. It was kinda surreal looking out from the calm water in the cove to see sheets of rain blowing straight sideways! We waited a little bit and it eventually calmed down, so we went back at it and finished our limits.
We stopped at the local pizza parlor to grab some lunch on the way home and the waitress couldn't believe we were fishing in such bad weather. I don't think she believed us when my wife told her how many we caught.
It was by far the best two days of fishing we have ever had. Add in the fact my wife had the special experience of catching two craaps at once and it made for some very special memories!
