Ill tell you like it was told to me.. Yamaha knows what's best for Yamaha, mercury knows what's best for Mercury and so on. They all are good oils and the most important thing is to NOT mix brands. Use one and stick with it. I learned this the hard way several years ago. I was at Grenada and needed oil so I grabbed some other brand and poured in with yamalube, which I had always used.. About a week later I went to Barnett and alarm went off.. I quickly realized the transfer pump quit pumping. Took it to RJ's and he had me back going the next day. The oils I had mixed didn't mix... Insted they formed a thick sludge in the bottom of the oil tank and it was to thick to pump. They cleaned it out and all was well.

I listen to my boat mechanic, other than that once, and I do as he suggest.. I use yamalube and Yamaha ring free consistently and service my boat annually. It may cost me a little more than other stuff I could use, but it's a lot cheaper than a trip to the shop..

Amazon.com: Yamaha LUB-2STRK-W1-04 Yamalube 2W Watercraft 2-stroke Oil Case of 4 Gallons: Automotive

Case of 4 gallons 120.29 dollars. Free shipping if order qualifys.
That would put it at 30.07 a gallon.
