As long as they are wired in parallel you could use a hundred batteries....its still gonna just be twelve volts.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

If you use two batteries, wire them pos to pos and neg to neg and you have a 'strong' 12 system. Important to not have one a couple years old and ADD a new on. You'll drag the new one down to the inefficiency of the older one. Same series and same age. You'll be good to go for some time. I only have one battery for TM and one for starter and other accessories and they get me plenty good. Good luck....now go fishin!!!
Thanks for the reply. I went to our local Bass Pro and looked at the smaller aluminum bass trackers and they all had 45 lb Minn Kota edge. I looked at the trolling motor display and decided that the 65 was too big. I narrowed it down to the 55 (24v) and the 45 (12v).
I'm wondering what my boat had originally (1989 bass tracker ).

All the Bass Trackers I have seen came with a 45......which is fine if you do not pull crankbaits and its not windy.

I went to bass pro and looked at the new boats and like you say they all came equipped with 45's so I went with that since my boat is a little smaller (1989 model). The 65 was too big and would require a one or two new batteries. Hope this 45 will do the job! Thanks for the reply.

I still say bigger is better. I don't think in too big.

Got the 45 installed today. The old motor was a 28 so maybe this jump in ft lbs will do the trick!
