I think we might be neighbors. I live on Bellevue as well. I fish cypress, flag and cross occasionally. Welcome!

You might be closer to my in laws, they own the kajun lawncare business down the road. I live down near heatherbrook dr in dogwood. But in the world of the Internet you could call that neighbors lol. We may need to meet up sometime and catch some sacs.

This is a silly question, but I work from the Texas stateline to the red river in shreveport. I'm trying to do some bank fishing while I have some free time so I can fill my freezer some to take a load off the groceries. Does anyone know of some quick spots in the shreveport area to throw a quick line out at?

Some spots I saw are a little difficult because of the water height, but there are others if you can keep the hook out of the grass you can at least get some decent cats. I was thinking about somewhere near Wallace lake to bank fish as that's kind of my area of town to work for my job as maintenance with the cable company. I figured there if my family of four can eat fresh caught fish once a week ( don't want to push it with the little kiddos) that'll equal to about 80 dollars saved a month, which is about $1,000 a year just from one night out of the week.
My father in law has a jon boat but getting it out depends on the weather and days off etc... Seems like it'd be easier to bank and at least get some panfish or some cat fillets. Thanks for all the information, anymore please keep it coming as I'm fairly new to the area. I came from El Paso in the army which....the fishing opportunities is either a dirty public pond or a dirty rio grande lol.

I've heard of this issue in multiple lakes around here. Bisteneu , some of caddo, and I didn't realize Wallace. I suppose it'll be narrowed down to asking to fish in people's ponds or cross lake off lakeshore dr.

Go to 12 Mike where it dumps into the river and tight line for catfish or the red river NWR

I may try that. I heard that bayou is great for bass. Have you had any success with dip bait with cats? I tried some perch from the dogwood pond on limb lines out on flag lake but I think the gators got to it before the cats.
