Ya'll must be Spider Rigging in some real calm conditions

I've rarely had calm enough conditions to make use of a bead btwn the guides ... plus, I mostly "Push" my jigs, and most of the time I know I'm getting a bite when I look up and the rod tip is underwater well past the first couple of guides

I tried it today, I can see that it would be advantageous in calmer weather. The wind was blowing 15 to 20.

I sure like Crappiepappy's response - if first 3 guides are buried in water and pole bent like a horse shoe - "must have a bite"

If all your poles do the same thing at the same time, you might reconsider spider rigging. I know lots of folks who did. One 1 hour to fix tangle did them in.

Well I gotta try it I put 1 bead on one rod between eye 2 n 3and two beads on another rod between eye 2 n 3 and left the other rods without. Now I gotta go fishing to compare. I like to hold my hand on the end of the cross bar on my Hi Tec holders so I can feel the bite but that gets old after a while

If all go down same time - usually means massive tangle in hydrilla - weeds or brush pile.....................
Always carry somewhere between 75 - 130 pretied rigs - complete with swivels - cut away old lines and go on................
Have had 3 -4 go down at same time and have good sized spec's hooked - happened at Lk Henderson 3 yrs ago,
    Ye ha what a day

Spider riggin i would think would be good - either between eye and first guide or
first guide & second... have seen them attached to primary line or on separate tied lines
I was spider rigging. The bead had a tendency to loop around the rod tip when taking a fish off, rerigging, or baiting. Between the 2nd and 3rd eye may have worked better. If it works for others, that is great. It just didn't work out for us and I will never use beads on my rods again. It is an easy thing to check. Put a bead on, if it works great, if it doesn't, it hasn't cost you much but 15 seconds to take it off.
