Thanks for the comments. I can't wait to go catch with them. I tied a few late last night. I added some flashabou to the first jig I tied and tried a few more by mixing the different colors of flashabou to give them a rainbow sparkle. I tied one with peacock feathers and chartreuse. The colors are amazing on it. The picture does not do it justice. I will tie one with a black body tonight. I even tied on using a squirrel tail and one from an old road runner head .Here are some pictures of them.

Look good to me. I agree with Skip. Use the powder paint and there are many places to get materials. Folks here can turn you on to some supplies. I use EBay a lot lots of timing material to be found there

You know fish love that peacock big time, I have used it some for crappie, but it's also pretty weak materials. Still love it and catching is what counts right?

Lookinh forward to talking to you!

Welcome to the hobby. Putting your on spin on the jigs you tie keeps it interesting.

Great job ! It feels good when you catch one on a lure you made yourself. The best lures don't come from stores and they don't have patents and trademarks and such. The best lures come from guys that love to fish . They make me and they use them.

Yep - powder paint is pretty amazing stuff!

I found out it isn't peacock. It is one of the most expensive feathers to buy. It is a tough feather. My mother designs and sell hats wholesale and she has been saving her damaged feathers. She has every feather imaginable. I also put in an order for a few materials that my kit was missing. In a few minutes I will post a few I tied a while ago.

Skip this is a picture of that feather and a few jigs I tied watching the tube tonight. My wooden TV tray makes a good tying table.
