I use nail polish and clear coat on top. It does take a while to do it this way but what else am I gonna do on a winter day? Also the color selection is outstanding. You might look a little funny in the checkout line though. Always base coat in white paint of some sort or it will take even longer.

FYI...I use 2 fluid beds and I tried home made ones, didn't like that at all. Had one bought one already when I tried the home made and I just couldn't get to like that one so bought my 2nd one. I have a cup for every color and keep that paint in its cup. I use the larger cups 3" dia I believe?

Now if you want to fluff the paint in the little jar it came in like VaCrappieMan does and that can work fine, but I do too many to do that. You also use more paint like that on each head. It's not cheap to get into powder painting if done with a lot of colors and bounty fluid beds and the paint! You can paint a heck of a lot of jig heads with 2 oz of paint!

Anyway there are more than one of two ways to do this so just pick what you want!

I have a fluid bed but I don't use it any more. Works just fine but it's just a little too slow for my liking.

I go to a place called absolute powder coating and buy powder in bulk - maybe 1/2 or 1 lb at a time. It really doesn't cost any more than getting one of those 2 Oz jars at a sporting goods store.

I get some of those plastic containers at the grocery store - like the ones you use for packing food for your lunch box .

Put the powder in the container. Get your jig hot. Dip it in the powder. Tap the excess off back into the container. Every so often you can put the lid on the container and shake it to fluff it up a bit. Don't need to every time - you get the hang of it in a very short while.

But 1/2 lb of powder will paint more jigs than you can imagine !
