I just got in a kit from bass pro. I used painted jigs I had laying in my tackle box. Hey It was easier than I thought. I went to hobby lobby and found some chenille stems. I had to use a hemostat to wrap it but it worked. I will order the correct chenille soon since the kit didn't have the color I liked. What is the best paint to use on lead heads that I can get locally? Here is a picture of my 1st 2 jigs.

Nice job for your first 2, nothing wrong with that!
Powder paint is the way to go and don't fence your self in by just using materials you can get locally for sure! That may mean everything comes from Bass Pro or a place like that and it cost too much to do that! Learn a good place to order from and do that!

They look like fish producers you did a good job on your first ones.
