Smoothlures, trust me on the nibble thing just push one or two onto the hook just barely past the barb, they will take the float down just like it's live bait, I never have a problem with them letting go of it, heck I have been doing something else and looked back and no bobber, only to find that the crappie has swam to the side 5-6 feet without letting go. I mostly use threadneck jigs with this hair, they seem to hit it better around here, but now in Mississippi they use that style you have there a lot.

One tail will sometimes be used for several sizes of jigs. you done a heck of a job on your first one!
I like the jig. I have had 6-8 different color calf tails for quite awhile, but; havn't used them much as the hair is shorter than what this jig shows. I need to make a search for a little longer hairs. Pop

Some have longer hair, but also know the farther you go out the tail the hair gets longer as you go!
