Default Great to be up and moving around some!

I finally feel like setting up and do something other than exercise my knee. I really do appreciate all of your prayers and thoughts. I will tell you the first 2 weeks of this recovery is not for the faint at heart kind. It hurts like all get out! I am not in great pain now but when I get up and move my weight onto my knees it will let you know real quick you are still not ready to walk on your own. I have home rehab and the therapy is not like the pro's do but it is all in the understanding that you need to put yourself in motion to get well. I do my exercises when I wake up and 2 more times a day plus walk with the walker to the mail box and back a couple of time a day. I now have to learn to put more weight on my new knee to get the soreness out of the muscles. I feel good other than the soreness, I will have to really put the pressure on me this next two weeks because I am due to go back to work Sept 15th. I do want to thank all of you for your help in my recovery. Please forgive me for not posting before now but it was not my intention, it seemed a little hard to think of what to say while laying on my back and working my knee on the continuous passive motion machine. It has been a journey up hill until now and I hope it levels out so I can get back to a slow normal walk. It will take months to recovery fully and I am on the road to meet that goal. Thank all of you for your support, phone calls and prayers. I appreciate it all. Good luck fishing and it's time for a 3 pounder to be caught some where. If Wylie keeps drying up Brett may be able to dip one out with CK's new net! Thanks guys! Bigdawgg

It's good to hear you are improving day by day. Hopefully you will be ready to get on the fish come fall, take care & be careful.

Ron, I'm glad you are moving again. The hardest part is the first steps shortly you'll be good as new.

Great news Ron. Glad to hear you are moving around more and more. I remember after all my surgeries back in 2010 I had trouble walking more than a couple of steps. I had to wait on Andrea to go to the mailbox and get the morning paper for me. I am an early riser and had to twiddle my thumbs until she got the paper for me. The first day I was able to go get it myself I felt like I had conquered the world. It is touch being dependent on someone else for even simple things, so never take your health for granted.
You'll be your old self pretty soon, or probably a new improved self, and cooler weather will help. Maybe by the time you are fishing again, your lake will have some water in it.

Thanks guys. I forgot to mention ICE is your friend. I thought for the longest that I had a refrigerator up my rear end. Blood thinner, ice and Oxycodone is a tuff mixture for meds. I stayed under blankets trying to get warm but it never happened. I am still on everything mentioned but it has eased up a lot now that I can get up and move some. Hope you all have a good day and catch some fish. I'll just watch TV and exercise and think about fishing.LOL
