Tired of learning from my mistakes

I'm no electronics wizard but happen to know a guy. He's willing to take a look at it. When I talked to Minnkota, they said the same. Said I may have touched something else. Motor's been on the boat for better than a year and my Humminbird is at least 5 rears old and the only change made was the new battery. Checked the power level at the plug of the depth finder and at the power block and have 12.6v at each.

This morning went out to start working on the boat. Moved my 560 HB to where the 160 was mounted, pulled a few wires the tunnel on my boat, remounted an slapped some Plumbers Goop on the hull an tightened the screws so it wouldn't leak. Wanted to make sure every thing was hunky dory with the wiring so I hooked up the battery an turned on my 560, WALLA, ticks like an ole Timex!

...........Wait a minute, what's that low humming noise and where's it coming from? I looked up, an my Minnkota's running,

I must be prayed up, that's all I can figure. I got to thinkin, wonder if my 160's ok too? The plugs going into the 560 and the 160 are the same so I just swapped out plugs and Bingo! It works too! Is it possible that both the Minnkota and the Humminbird units have time delay fuses built in? Not sure but I do know I'm back in business again. Still gonna get that Humminbird Helix 5 though, and if ya tell my wife about this, I'll drown ya. Anybody wanna buy a used Humminbird 160?

It's always easier to beg the wife forgiveness than it is to ask for permission. Don't ask me how I know. I think some wise man told me so.
