Be safe and good luck fishing
They'll eat them BEFORE they get that size !! And likely why the Bluegill DO get that size. (since the Bass will help control the numbers & keep the Bluegills from overpopulating the lake).
You may not want to feed the Bass, if that's the case. If you change the feeding habits (prey) of the Bass, and get them to leave the Bluegill alone (more or less), then you might end up with bigger Bass but smaller Bluegill. Putting any kind of soft rayed fish in, for the Bass to eat, can turn them away from the spiny rayed Bluegill as their primary prey.

Bigger Bass is what I am trying to achieve ... as far as the law ... I am not a real fan of the Oregon Dept. Fish & Wildlife .... Being a life long Oregonian .... and hunter and fisherman all my life .... NO , better stop here .... could go all nite on why I don't like the ODF&W ... and NO , I have never been arrested ....
Buy yourself a seine & take the grandkids. They will love it.
And IF you do so ... be sure and be able to correctly identify ANY species of fish that you take back to your pond. Don't assume that the Bass will eat everything you throw in there. Green Sunfish and other species that you seine from a creek can mess up the balance of your waters.
Case in point :
We have a 784 acre lake here in KY, that was supposed to be a trophy Bass lake. It was supposed to have Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish, Black Crappie, Bluegill, and Shellcrackers ONLY. The idea was to have the Bass & Cats keep the population of the others in check by using them as their foodsource. No other species was supposed to be present. Unfortunately, the killing off of all other species of fish, prior to the filling of the lake & the stocking of these fish, did not completely work. Gizzard Shad came back after a couple of years, as did many other undesirable sunfish species, and the Bass keyed in on the Shad & left the Bluegill alone. The Black Crappie have taken almost 10 years to get to any appreciable size, and there have been White Crappie caught .... which may be a sign that the Crappie population could be in trouble. The lake has also been stocked with Rainbow Trout, the majority of which probably die from the water temps more than being eaten by the Bass or caught by anglers. One can only assume that the trophy Bass lake experiment was a failure, and the lake is now just a normal 784 acre lake whose fish populations will eventually revert back to the stunted growth situation of its earlier years.
My point being .... be very careful what you put in your waters !! You may be doing more harm than you realize.
