Which now means zero control over water releases. If we had not had low lake levels before this spring deluge we would have gotten to this point a week or two ago on many of our watersheds. In essence it would have been as if there was no flood control dams at all for the most recent rains. We need to pray that this is over with soon, because if it is not, for all practical purposes it will be back to the days when we had no dams. Father we thank You for the rain, we needed it. We ask now in the Name of Jesus that it ceases for a time so this situation gets no worse. My understanding is both lakes are Corp lakes, but GRDA has complete control within certain guidelines. Those guidelines are primarily based on Fort Gibsons and the rivers below status.

Video of Twin Lakes dam at the link, this is a helluva a rain event. Wes Watkins is 8 foot over normal elevation , I can't imagine what's happening there with water goin over the spillway. I bet the road below the dam is closed.
