Roger have you tried or done this on other lakes? Or is this the only lake it has been done in?

On this side of the USA, we don't care too much about "numbers" unless they're big enough to keep. IMHO

I don't know as I'd even enjoy catching 800 fish just to get 45 "keepers" .... and were I to get into action that hot and wasn't catching many over the 9" size limit, I'd probably move to another spot and look for bigger fish. But, that's just me.

Best I've ever done in one day was 30 Crappie (daily limit) @ around 1.5-2lbs avg. casting a Roadrunner on Barkley Lake. Best day for sheer numbers, but no size .... probably around 60-70 ... out of one tree on a local lake of about 3000 acres. But, since they weren't keeper sized fish, I moved on to other spots to look for bigger fish.

We have a lake on the east end of the state that puts out bigger Crappie and good numbers, Maybe around 200 a day per person.

Silver Lake that I fish all the time could have the best crappie fishing in the world for numbers (not sure yet!)
The lake has a great food supply and as the fish are getting bigger ever year and the number are still growing this could be a much better crappie lake
Like I said I have landed over 400 crappie over a pound and a half in a day, that sounds like a quality lake! The lake has quality crappie and it is getting better every year.
Right now it's a great lake to take the kids! and If you know what you are doing you can load the boat with good quality crappie!

Okay We will take the title best crappie fishing in the world........for numbers (The last day I got 800 in a day the average size was 8.5 inches, some bigger some smaller but 8.5 inches was the average.)

I would probably say that you may have the most or best numbers and you have caught more than I will ever catch. Now not to bust your bubble, but with almost any animal when you overpopulate it they can not get the food to grow to the bigger size in the greater numbers. We have experienced this with animals such as deer and other animals. It is not even good to stock small ponds with crappie as they will overpopulate it quickly and they will be smaller in size. You may have the numbers but I would say that your crappie size as far as the size of the most caught will be lacking. Another question is with that kind of numbers why the 10 fish and 9 inch slot limit?

Not trying to be a smart alec, but why would you leave a great bite like that? I believe I would be throwing some back...

During this hard water season from the hours of 3PM to 6PM I C&R 137 crappies. Our best fish house C&R catch during the season for two guys was 100 fish in one hour.
It was a fun hard water season.
