    Default Long Handled Net

Anyone have any suggestions on a light weight long handled net. Have researched the internet and can't seem to find many. Just curious as to what you all use and what are some of the best out there. I have used some that are lightweight and you can handle with one hand, have not been able to find one anywhere like I have in mind though. I am wanting one in the 10-12 ft range.

    Roland,
J&S Sports on Hwy 378 at Shore Rd had one that I liked and bought. It is about 6' long and telescopes out to about 11' or so. It was reasonably priced, if I remember correctly it was mid $30. Very light wt. and easy to use. It was made by Cummings Quality Nets but I could not find this particular one on their company website. Might check with J&S, I bought mine on the way to the Spring fest at Lake Russell this year, so they should still have some.

Roland check with Mark at the Crappie Hole, the last time I was their he had the net you are looking for. Beside you don't need a net if you are not fishing or catching, just cutting fool, have a crappie day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a Cummings from the crappie hole and currently testin a Ego net. Like them both and the Ego has a bigger net which I like a lot. Still need one about 14ft I think.

Just make your own, I got a retractable hollow aluminum handle from the Sportsman Warehouse. It was made for a gig. I removed the gig, found an aluminum loop and net I liked and removed the small handle. Inserted the ends of the metal loop and net into the new handle, placed a couple of sheet metal screws into it to secure and wallah, a nice retractable long handled crappie net.

That's a great idea Mr Ink. I've got several old pieces of nets. Will have to check into a telescoping handle. I know of a Chinese import place that likely has one cheap.

I have been using a wooden handle crabbing net I got at the beach, but it is only 5-6 ft long. Would be nice to have a longer one that would reach out past the end of the rods.

I took the rubber netting from my Ego and put it onto the Cumming loop and handle (I picked up the Cumming net from the Crappie Hole). Lightweight and jigs/hooks dont tangle in the net. It's the best I have had.
