The best filet knife that I have ever used was purchased at Target... Now I cannot find them anymore should've bought everyone they had.. I have burned up countless mister twisters... The only one that will hold it's own to the Target knife is a black and decker
You think I like to duck hunt? I love to crappie fish!

I have an American Angler that is many years old and still going strong. Now that I've bragged, it'll probably die .

I have an American Angler that has been going stong for years as well!!!! I pick up a new blade every three years of so and it helps a bunch! No problem with the ribs on 2lbs plus fish that we get out of Guntersville around here.

The grey one would not make it through the warranty.

New ones seem a lot more solid. Blade speed seems a little slow. But strong

My american angler is the blue handled one. It is OLD!!!!!! I dont know if it has metal gears, but I do know it is bad to the bone! I clean everything from 30+ pound cats to 6inch bream. It is definitely not prejudice!

I have been looking for another one, since I like to have a spare of something with this quality. Are the white handled ones as powerful as the old blue ones?

American Angler doesn't make the white handled one (saltwater) any longer. I use the American Angler Pro and really like it.
Side note: I have a friend that guides and cleans his clients' fish. He used a blue American Angler for years. It finally gave up the ghost. I took it apart to try and rebuild it. Couldn't do it. The contact plates on the armature had worn completely through. Surprised me when I discovered that it had plastic gears. And they weren't worn down. American Angler puts enough grease in those knives to last.

    Default American Angler

My knife is 10-12 years old and still going strong. It has cleaned several thousand crappie and has good power on large fish. If you can't find blades the Mister Twister will work in mine.

I lost the american angler, so i bought the rapala, it did ok but hurt my wrist because of lack of speed and power. So i got the mister twister salt water edition, it was alot more powerful than rapala, and i thot that was the ticket until.... I found my american angler again just this yr. There is seriously no comparison. Ya dont even hafta push the blade at all. This is just my personal opinion, and i dont get anything from advertisement, and totally non biased in the beginning of my experiments. Now i have a pretty strong opinion. I hope i dont offend anyone. But the question was asked, so i answered.

The new american anglers are well over a $100. Are they AS powerful as the old ones? definitely wanna know before I buy one for a spare. If they are, it is worth the price! Also have heard rumors of a new brand of electric filet knife coming out with. And it is supposed to be the baddest most powerful knife ever. Hafta wait and see once they are marketed. Cant remember what brand is coming out with it, maybe wally marshall? But dont quote me on that. I may be mistaken on the brand name.
